Hi, I’m Derek Leman, a real estate agent representing buyers, sellers, and landlords in Cobb County, Georgia (and all over Metro Atlanta). Many of my clients are first-time home buyers and landlord investors. I went to school (a long time ago) in Cobb County and moved back here in 2018. 

My wife, also a real estate agent, and I have the most beautiful back yard wooded garden in our townhome subdivision and we live here with our rescue dog and three rescue cats. We’ve hiked most of the trails around here multiple times. We love the combination of quiet and convenience here in Kennesaw. 

Before real estate, I was a pastor and I studied at Georgia Tech, Moody Bible Institute, and got my Masters in Theological Studies in 1998 from Emory University. 

Consider me your local expert in Cobb County, in Marietta, Smyrna, Kennesaw, Acworth, Mableton, Austell, and Powder Springs. I also manage rental properties and help buyers and sellers all over the Metro Atlanta area, especially in the City of Atlanta.

Experience

Born and raised on the sunny east coast of South Africa, I entered the United States for the first time in 1997. Immediately impressed by the opportunity available, to work hard and prosper, I began my quest to become a citizen. In 2010, 3 weeks before the birth of my second son, that long journey came to fruition. I now live in Dunwoody with my wife and two boys, and could not be happier. (unless the nearest beach was a little closer)
I still enjoy travelling and have been fortunate enough to visit more than 25 states of this beautiful country. I love the people, the accents, the food and the landscape.
I joined 3 Options Realty in 2010 and through property management and sales, have helped to share some of the happiness I have been so fortunate to experience myself. Whether you need help in finding a new home, selling your current one, or even having your investment property managed, I would love to be your realtor.

Formal & Professional Education

I studied Property Development and Management through Tech RSA from 1988-1990, and worked as an appraiser for the city of East London during that time. I obtained a GA real estate license in 2010 and now manage over 50 properties.
